From October 6 until February 8, 2012, this is my breakdown of the DIRECTV New Customer Promotions.
A lot of websites use flashing lights and mirrors to miss-direct you. This is the real Promotion.
- Standard setup and installation is FREE. Unless there is something way out of the ordinary at your house, free means free at Sky View Video. If you call DIRECTV on one of their 800 numbers they will charge you shipping and handling charges.
- Take $31.00 a month off your bill for a year! Choose packages of Choice or higher and receive $26.00 a month off the normal rate for one year. Give DIRECTV your email address and register on line for your rebates and receive another $5.00 a month off for 12 months. That's up to $31.00 a month off.
- FREE NFL SUNDAY TICKET! Watch any game in the NFL FREE this season and only on DIRECTV.
- FREE HD Programming. DIRECTV is now offering free high definition TV on packages of CHOICE XTRA and above. It is common for others to charge $10.00 a month or to put the high definition channels in an expensive package. With DIRECTV you pick the package, (CHOICE XTRA and above) and if a channel within the package is available in HD, You get it! In order to receive the Free HD you must sign up for Credit Card Auto Pay.
- Receive a free upgrade to a HD DVR and up to 3 more HD receivers. When you sign up for the Choice Xtra programming package or higher and include the Whole House option. You can record a show on your DVR and watch it in any other room that has a HD receiver!
- FREE Showtime for 3 months.. With Choice programming.
- FREE Showtime, Cinemax, HBO, and Starz for 3 months.. When you sign up for Choice Xtra programming or higher.
Local channels (ABC,CBS,NBC,and FOX) are included in these prices.

- Add $7.00 a month for the DVR service. The Digital Video Recorder is a satellite receiver that has a built in hard drive. You can record shows or pause live TV. The DVR is the best thing to happen to TV since Color.
- Add $6.00 a month for each independent TV after the first one. So if you have three receivers total, you would pay $12.00 in addition to the programming fee.
- Add $3.00 a month for Whole-Home service. This will link your HD DVR to your other HD receivers.
- Rebate process. In order to receive your monthly credits of up to $31.00 a month you will need to fill out a rebate form. The easiest way to do this is on line. Go to directv.com/rebates and follow the prompts. You will need your account # which we will generate here and give to you. If you complete the rebate process before we install your system, you will receive the rebates starting with your first bill. If you wait until after the installation to complete the rebate process it will take up to three billing cycles until you see your first rebate. Once the rebates start, they will continue for 12 consecutive months. If you do not have internet acess, you can call DIRECTV and register for your rebates once your system has been installed.
